"Milky Way" was photographed on Cumberland Island, Georgia in July 2018.
I know what your thinking... "This is not a 'Milky Way' photo". No it is not, but I decided to name this horse "Milky Way" after the Milky Way photos that I love to do and because it's a white "milky" looking wild horse of Cumberland Island, Georgia.
"Milky Way" is shown grazing in the green grass overlooking the marsh and river behind the Dungeness. Cumberland Island is the only place where wild horses can still be found in Georgia. The horses look so tame, as if you could put a rope or harness on them and take them home. But make no mistake, they are wild and can and will defend themselves if approached. They can kick and bite very hard, so if you every go to visit do not attempt to approach these wild horses or try to feed them.
I think "Milky Way" would make a great fine art wall art piece for anyone who loves the wild horses of Coastal Georgia, especially if you are a fan of my other Milky Way photography.
